You know Mike, this is how I feel all these years later. I was never in combat or a war, but I served none the less. I do not consider myself a true veteran, but I did serve, and if ever called on to pick up a weapon, I would gladly do so, not that they would want my tired old ass. But it is still in my heart. I already told you about my son. My daughter is going to be sent to Afghanistan soon. My little brother who is a grunt just arrived there for his second tour. My father was a lifetime soldier, retired a first sgt. My grandfather was a marine who served in WW2, I do not feel worthy to be counted a veteran among people like that, and countless others.
John I didn't serve, I should have, I wish I did. You are a vet no matter what you think. Thank you for YOUR service, and hug you kids as much as possible, Obama's rules of engagement SUCK BAD. I'll pray for your family, my friend .........
