  1. I did a little snooping through dog food reviews & found the Merrick Co. I've used the calf & lamb milk replacers with excellent results. I used to haul their products out & raw materials into their plant in Union Center, Wi. Never new they made dog food, though. Anyway, they gave it a five star rating. I'm gonna' check out Petco tomorrow. Like you, better safe than sorry!

  3. Your right better safe than sorry. I feed my three dog food that is made a few miles from here and uses local farms for the ingrediants. Thanks for posting that. So much of this food is made overseas.

  4. Went to Petco today & bought a bag of Merrick. "Course they sell it but they told me it's one of the best. I saw about 4 bags of Beneful at Petco & 2 at Walmart. I've always been a Purina fan, now I'm wondering what's up?

    1. Ya, I bought "Taste Of The Wild" but the pup won't touch it, they said I could take it back if he didn't like it, so I'm headed back today............

  5. I lost my Dachshund last March. Beneful was her main diet. She became ill, I took her to her vet, he put her thru the tests and said her kidneys were failing. The last 2 months of her life were so painful but what happened to her the last 3 days, was something I would love to see happen to the makers of pet foods that are only interested in making a dollar, not pet health or life. She vomited over 12 times a day or more, I lost count. She had convulsions and I held her when her little body stiffened, her eyes rolled back in her head, just kept telling her I loved her and everything would be ok. I took her to the vet that last day, knowing I had to put her down. I never want to go thru that again, I never want another person to experience that pain. We have to do something now to change the laws concerning the manufacturing of pet foods. This wasn't the first time I lost a pet to kidney disease. I lost my beautiful cat to it also, again, she was only fed dry cat food from Purina. I have never fed my pets people food. If it takes huge lawsuits, then keep them coming, it is time these greedy corporations pay thru the nose and learn they cannot get away with poisoning our little pets just to line their pockets with gold. They should suffer the same fate.

  6. Lets feed the corporate money grabbers the same diet that our little pets are fed, maybe they will suffer the same fate as my little Dachshund who was fed Beneful most of her life & who died in my arms because of kidney failure. The vomiting for 3 days was continuous, I held her when she had convulsions with her little body stiffening and her eyes rolling back in her head, all I could do was tell her I love her and everything was going to be ok. I had to have her put down. I also had to have my cat put down for the same reason, commercial cat food from Purina. Sue the greedy corporate money grubbers for every penny you can, pressure for regulations that will make them give the same care to pet foods as they do human foods. Put these *&^%^%$$ people out of business, you can make your own healthy pet foods. They are worth it. I have a new puppy now, he is getting the best, healthiest food I can make him, he deserves it.
