Court upholds EPA’s truck efficiency rules | TheHill

http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/239977-court-upholds-epas-truck-efficiency-rules

Hopefully Zoomie will weigh in on this !!
My buddy has had nothing but trouble with his semi since they've added the smog garbage to his truck, it was in the shop twice in the first week !! I'll have to call later and update how its been since, but it was nothing but trouble in the beginning...........

  1. I worked on heavy hauling commerical rigs for 30 years and now I am retired. Thank God I don't deal with it anymore so many classes we attended. Just re-setting everything on the OLDER rigs was a pain because they never ran right when they met the air regulations. Also, I think everyone before they get a license should sit behind a steering wheel of a large rig and look back 45-50 feet of trailer. I hated those assholes--EPA and NC DENR.

  2. The EPA doesn't give a rats ass if the rules they unilaterally create are reasonable or even if these
arbitrary rules violate fundamental laws of chemistry
and physics. Reality is nothing to the progtards who
have seized power and they will happily kill people who
cannot comply with insane regulations. The ends ALWAYS justify the means even if the means come
    from fairy tale insanity.

  3. My company bought 200 or more Internationals with the EGR type exhaust treatment, and they have been nothing but trouble. INTL. EGR engines never worked, and INTL. has admitted as much by shit-canning the process after losing billions in warranty claims.

EGR uses high heat to treat the exhaust which leads to multiple failures and breakdowns. I know this because I have experienced it first-hand.

The problem is not fixable. From what I understand EGR equipped trucks are being gutted and shuffled off to Mexico because they suck so bad.

Urea (DEF) diesel exhaust fluid systems seem to be pretty reliable (and the way to go currently) from my experience.

When a modern diesel engine is running as it should, they run very clean these days.

I'm all for breathing clean air.

  4. Navistar deserved what they got. Those EGR coolers were going out left and right. Didn't they buddy up with Cummins after that mess?

Let me know how I'm doing, as long as your not a fucking liberal who believes that a little fairy dust will solve all the worlds ills .......;)
